Pashupati Tamrakar - Nepali Folk Singer

English biography

Pashupati Tamrakar is a folk singer of Nepal who was born in Sudurpaschim (Far Western Region) Of Nepal. Grown on typical Nepali western village, she has passed her childhood listening Nepali folk music which lead her curiosity towards the tunes, tradition and cultural aspects related with Nepali Folk Music. Later On, she learnt folk music in her community and school, where she started to sing and dance in it. Not only the music and dance but she started to learn to play some Nepali folk instruments. Nepali culture and festivals are those key points which motivate any one to get entertained in folk music and instruments. She used to perform outstandingly during the programs organized in different festival and occasion throughout the year. Spending the quality childhood in Kailali district which is even a hilly region in western part of Nepal, she used to participate various music and dance competition organized in zone, district and regional level during her teen age and has won many awards. Even belonging far from the capital, Kathmandu, she has an eager interest to promote Nepali folk music throughout the world with good research. She finished her high school in Nepal and went to Rajasthan of India during her 16 for further study regarding Indian Classical music. She finished her Master in Classical Indian music, where she even learnt the deep core Indian folk genre. She used to be in very first in the list of classical and folk program and tours India because of her true originality and the pure folk - classical music which was her genre to perform. On those shows she collaborated the Rajsthani and Nepali Folk together, from which she used to get cheers from the audience. She has toured almost of all Indian states performing her folk music.
